In Judges 11, The story of Jephthah is complicated. In the middle, he won a battle for God, defeating the Ammonites. He even tried to avoid war through peaceful conversation. But his early days were from a broken home, and his most famous act was to needlessly sacrifice his daughter toward the end of the story. Is that what we would want to be remembered for – our failure to protect our own family?
